Imam Al-Shafe'i grew up in Mecca. Despite his honorable ancestry, he led a life of poverty and orphanhood. This is something we would abhor if we live attached to this dunia. We would try to make money and to compete in this world over the world. Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala distributes the rizq with different amounts. We may think that why some have less then others. Allah knows his creation and knows what may corrupt us and what may be the source of righteousness. Some people are meant to be poor, but if they become rich they become corrupt. Some people are meant to be rich, but if they become poor they become corrupt. Some people are meant to be sick, but if they become healthy it may corrupt them. Some other people are meant to be healthy and if they become sick they become corrupt.
