Explanation

Impact is Momentum

Momentum = mv

6 feet = 2.5 * 6*12

          = 2.5 * 72

= 180cm = 1.8m

We have to find the velocity of the falling iron piece

So v^2 - u^2 = 2as

    so v^2 = 2 * 10 * 1.8

               v^2  = 36

              v    = 6m/s

Now according to law of conservation of momentum = 6* 1000 = 3000 * 0

= 6000Kgm/s

I dont know if it is 100% correct.

But if it help u I will Be really very happy

Hope it helps you :)
