Answer:

According to me, Sadao was a patriotic person who wants to do something for his country and as the war was going , he was with his country wholeheartedly but he was a doctor and he learnt that a doctor have to treat everyone equally , no matters , what their race or religion is . He was a good surgeon , he had mastery on his skills flawlessly , apart from this , a good human being also , but there was many situations where he couldn't cope with the circumstances and remained baffled

Answer:

Dr Sadao was able to play all his three roles..

Firstly as a human he treated the prisoner well without any discrimination in his house and also helped him to escape safely at the end of the chapter.....

Secondly as a doctor he tried the best possible way to save his life... From a person who was about to die to a healthy man.... Dr. Sadao treated him well.... He considered him as his patient and was trying his best to give give him his life back...

And at last of course a patriot who informed about the prisoner to the officer....

Hence Dr sadao was able to justify his all the roles. He was a kind hearted man with morals who couldn't see a man dying in front of his eyes... Also as he gave the prisoner his life back he was an excellent surgeon.
