Swami and his father’s relation was a combination of pity, honesty, care and concern, aggression, guilt, imagination, fear and stubbornness.

Swami’s father was a disciplinarian, and comes across as strict and stubborn person. At the same time he was very caring and concerned as he writes a letter to Swami’s headmaster when he came to know about Swami’s teacher, Mr. Samuel’s, harsh behaviour.
