What impression do you form about uncle in the poem?

he is not like other mens he is different plz give me a brainly supreame.
Answer:
The uncle seems to have been quite a dominant figure at home and in their marriage. It could not have been a marriage of equals as the uncle comes across as a tyrant who prohibited aunt Jennifer from living her life freely. The point of dispute in this poem concerns the constraints of married life and the trials and tribulations a woman has to face by virtue of her marriage. The massive weight of the wedding ring and the toil of married life sits heavily on a woman because she seems to be tied to her husband mentally. Her life is not her own, she becomes known as someone's wife or mother. It is her independent identity as a woman which is at stake. The husband was a dominating figure who ruled at home. He did not allow her to pursue her avocations or give her much freedom to live the way she wanted to.
