Ali had been a clever shikari.As his skill increased so as his love for hunt,till atlast it was impossible for him to pass a day without hunting.Ali was a very patient man.His only daughter Miriam married and left with a soldier into a regiment in Punjab,and for the last five years there had been no news from her daughter whose sake alone he dragged along a cheerless existence.He visited the postoffice everyday in hope for his letter from his daughter Miriam but left empty handed.The postoffice officials made fun of by calling out his name even though when there is no letter for him.Later the postmaster also joined the other postoffice officials to laugh at him and scolded Ali once .Even though Ali was patient and came to the postoffice  that one day his daughter Miriam will send him a letter.
