She was a greedy woman. she brought all the antique things from the narrator's house and assured her mother that she will keep it safe. but when the narrator goes to her house in search for her mother's belongings, she refuses to give anything back(not directly)

The narrator:

She goes in search of her mother's belongings at Mrs. Darling's house. At first she refuses to recognise her, but the narrator knew that she had come to the right address. But when she sees all those things the second time she enters her house, nostalgia overtakes her.
