The character of the frog in the poem is an epitome of evil and greed. His character is totally devoid of sympathy, kindness and grace. The animal in the Bingle Bog did not like his voice,he poses himself as a great critic of art and music. An innocent and simple nightingale becomes a prey to his evil designs. The frog makes her sing for long hours and tires her to death

Nightingale was a sweet bird. She had a lovely and melodious voice. She sang beautifully. She was able to spread her melody all around herself. However, she was innocent and had lack of confidence. She could not understand that the frog was cheating her.
