Geologists gain a wealth of information about the moon's composition by studying rocks Apollo astronauts brought back to Earth. For example, they found titanium and aluminum basalts in lunar rocks that differ from those on Earth. Basalts, which reside in the Earth's ocean beds, are important minerals that exist in some types of moon rocks. Basalts from the moon don't have as much zinc and potassium as those on Earth. Chemical properties in lunar soil and rocks support theories on how the moon formed 4.4 billion years ago.

Answer:

the scientist have more information about the moon that any other heavenly body. Because man has travelled to the moon the surface of moon is dusty, baren and has craters of different sizes. The moon is about one-forth the size of of the earth and is about one-eighth of the mass of the earth. Being a small it has gravity which is one-sixth of that of the Earth. Like our own planet Earth, the moon is also made up of of rocks but it has no atmosphere, no oceans and no cover of air without air and water there is no life on the moon.
