Explanation:

What invention would you like to see in your lifetime?

Have you ever thought about a new invention that can make your life easier? If so, what is it?

I remember years back when I felt the urge for a new invention: flying car.

I was caught up in a heavy traffic driving to a close friend’s wedding in San Francisco. I left home three hours earlier thinking that I had plenty of time to get to my destination. It probably wouldn’t have mattered if I hadn’t promised the bride to be her maid of honor and still would have been OK if I didn’t have to give a ride to the bride’s parents. Their car had broken down earlier that day and I was the only one they could get a hold of for help. The wedding ceremony was due at 2:00 p.m. and we’ve been stuck in the traffic jam since 11:00 a.m. Several times I tried to change lanes to get out of the highway, but the cars were lined so closely back to back like a line of soldiers in a battleground that I couldn’t move an inch.

“If I were rich, I would have hired all the experts in aviation and transportation fields to make me a flying car!” The idea came to my mind wishfully. “Then I’d have flown above all other cars and reached my destination in no time!”

That day we arrived at the hotel where the wedding was being held with one hour delay. Luckily the bride and groom kept the audience entertained until our arrival and forgave me when they saw me the look of exhaustion on my face. The wedding went well without having a need for a flying car, but the idea of owning and driving a flying car had always stayed in the back of my mind.

What about you? Have you ever had such moments when you wished some new inventions could relieve you from the problem you were facing right then and there and thought if you only had that, your life would have been easier?

Why did people invent things? They probably were in such moments and found the urge for something and put their ideas into action. Don’t you agree that necessity is the mother of all invention? Electricity, telephone, radio, computer, automobile, television, and even much smaller things such as gardening tools, kitchen utensils, sports equipments, school supplies were all invented because the inventor felt a great need for them.

What is something that you have a great need for and how can it help you and other people to live a better life?
