It's form Arithmetic Series (in it sum of A.M).

By using the formula: sum=n/2*(2a+(n-1)d).

Where : n= total number of elements (10 in your case).

a= first number ( 1 in your case).

d= difference between two numbers ( 2-1=1 or any of two numbers in your series). Must be constant for applying formula.

Now. Sum=10/2(2*1+(10-1)*1).

Which gives you = 55.

Use this formula in any sum series (with constant difference).
