\huge{Hey Mate!!!}

erg is the unit of work / energy in CGS system.

it is the work done when a force of 1 dyne ( CGS unit for force, instead of newton) acts on a body, and the body is displace through 1 cm.

as,

W = F*s = 1 erg = 1 dyne*1 cm = 10-5 N *10-2 m = 10-7 joules.

1 erg = 10 -7 joules

hope it helps!!

cheers!!!
