Given :   -17, -12, -7,..., 33

To find :   What is this Sequence

Solution:

-17, -12, -7,..., 33

This is an AP  Sequence

( Arithmetic Progression)

AP Sequence is of form

a , a + d  , a + 2d , .....................,  a + (n-1)d

Here  a = - 17  ( First term)

d = Common difference  =  5    ( -12 -(-17)  = 5   or  -7 - (-12)  = 5 )

33 is last term

n = number of terms

33 = -17  + (n - 1)5

=> 50 = (n - 1)5

=> n - 1 =10

=> n = 11

Number of terms in sequence  = 11

First term = -17   & common difference = 5

We need to find next term after 33 then

it is 33 + 5 = 38
