Hey there !

2⁻¹ can be written as 1 / 2¹

We know that 2¹ is 2

Hence the fractional form is 1 / 2. On dividing the fraction we get 0.5 as the answer.

Hence 0.5 is the decimal form.

Hope my answer helped !

Mathematical Identities :-

If a number aⁿ × aⁿ = aⁿ+ⁿ

If a number is raised to the power negatively then,
a-ⁿ = 1/aⁿ

If a number is written such that

(aⁿ)ⁿ = aⁿ×ⁿ

Similarly, if aⁿ/aⁿ then = aⁿ-ⁿ

So your question is 2-¹

We know that, a-ⁿ = 1/aⁿ

=> 2-¹ = 1/2¹

In decimal form we can write,

 \frac{1}{2}  = 1 \div 2 = 0.5
hence, 2-¹ = 0.5

Hope it helps dear friend ☺️✌️
