The second law of thermodynamics states that the total entropy of an isolated system can never decrease over time.

The total entropy of a system and its surroundings can remain constant in ideal cases where the system is in thermodynamic equilibrium, or is undergoing a (fictive) reversible process.

For your second part of the question, just imagine that your are arranging your cupboard.

Here your cupboard is the system. As you are arranging it there is some external energy given for the process to happen.

Naturally in a few days it tend to become disordered. And its naturally happened you didn't put any huge effort in collapsing your hard work in arranging it.

That is increase in entropy, randomness.

Laws are great . Just observe the world around you , it gets lot more easier.
