Bacteria are unicellular tiny organisms. They live together in colonies of millions. They are the simplest living organisms and found all around us. Most of them are harmless but few of them are harmful because they cause diseases such as cholera and tuberculosis. Bacteria are of different shapes and sizes. Their size may vary from 0.2 to 2 micron. Based on the shapes of bacteria, they are classified into four types.

  • Cocci
  • Bacilli
  • Vibrios
