A balanced diet is a diet which consists of food having nutrients in the right amount to benefit our health.

A balanced diet must consist of fats, proteins, carbohydrates, vitamins and minerals and adequate amount of water.

The steps involved in preparing a balanced diet are- a combination of whole grains, fruits and vegetables rich in vitamins and minerals, proteins, and limited consumption of oil, sugar and salt. 
 
A balanced diet for a pregnant woman in the 2nd trimester of pregnancy, belonging to low socio- economic group should consist of foods that are rich in calcium, magnesium, and 
Vitamin D along with omega 3 oils. A diet of the pregnant woman should be more or less comprising of- 

1. Green leafy vegetables like cabbage, spinach 


2. Seasonal Fruits 


3. Dairy food items that have low fat 


4. Eggs or beans 


5. Bread 


6. Cereals
