A black hole is a place in space where gravity pulls so much that even light can not get out. The gravity is so strong because matter has been squeezed into a tiny space. This can happen when a star is dying.

Because no light can get out, people can't see black holes. They are invisible. Space telescopes with special tools can help find black holes. The special tools can see how stars that are very close to black holes act differently than other stars.

Black hole in simple terms is a dark area in space with much gravity formed due to pressing down of matter in a tiny space . It's gravity is that much that even light (fastest passing phenomena in universe till discovery of tachyon) can't pass through it. It's gravitational-force is this much that it can attract and collide (crash) even two stars of the size as of sun. Interestingly if any human being or any of the living beings tends to pass through it or even go near it, will be divided into millions and trillions of pieces and his body and organs will be disfigured and displaced by it's enormous force.
