a black hole is the remains of a very heavy star. It is formed when a very heavy star (atleast more than 3 times the mass of our sun ) dies. It has very strong curvature surrounding it and as we move towards the centre the curvature increases. as soon as we enter the event horizon of a black hole the escape velocity becomes greater than the speed of light and thus even light cannot escape. in terms of gravity a black hole has the same gravity as a star of its mass. but inside the black hole the gravity increases unlike in a star

Answer:

Black holes are volumes of space where gravity is extreme enough to prevent the escape of even the fastest moving particles. Not even light can break free, hence the name 'black' hole.
