At present there are two Boards  of revenue department which are directed under the Central Board of Revenue Act, 1963 ,the board have six Members in CBDT and six Members in CBIC. these membrs are  ex-officio Special Secretaries to the Government of India.

  The main duty of members is to collect land revenue from the settlement-holders of government lands. They have to deal with land acquisition matters.

(IRS) is a civil services and its exams are conducted by  UPSC for Revenue Department.
