Cations are the positively charged ions which are formed by losing of electrons by an atom.
For example :-
Li has 3 electrons. If Li loses one electron, then it form the cation as Li ^ +1

The cations are ions with a positive charge is to remamber the Phrase
Example is sodium cation,Chlorine anions,sodium has a positive 1 charge,etc
