Hii,
Friend here's the answer you are looking for :-
CELL
Cell is the smallest unit of structure and functions of any living organism it is more or less self contained and self maintain structure it can take nutrients convert these nutrients into energy carryout specialise function and can reproduce.
Robert hooke( 1635-1703) and English scientist used in combination of two lenses to achieve higher magnification such a microscope is called compound microscope it was actually Robert hooke who discovered cell while studying a very thin slice of cork under his self made microscope the what sir was derived from the Latin word cellar meaning very small compartment he actually saw cells of that sell but not the complete cell in 1831 Robert Brown discovered the nucleus in the Cell.

CELL THEORY
in 1838 a German botanist M. J Schleiden and in 1839 a german zoologist Theodor Schwann
after studying plants and animal independently put forward theory called the cell theory it is states that-

1st. All the living organism whether plant and animals are made up of cells.

2nd. A cell is the smallest unit of structure of all living organism.

3rd. A cell is the smallest unit of functions of all living organisms.

4th. cell is a small speak of nuclear did Protoplasm bounded by cell membrane and is capable of independent existence and perpetuation.

5th. Rudlolf virchow in 1858 said omnis cellula E cellula meaning all cells arise from pre-existing cells only this was also incorporated in the cell theory later on.

6th. After chemical analysis and studying the functions of different components it was added in the cell theory that the chemical constituents and metabolic activities of all cells are fundamentally similar.
