Pls mark me as brainlist I need your help pls The basic problem with all of the previous answers (and most descriptions on the internet as well as most zoology textbooks) is that the authors confuse cell division with mitosis and meiosis. Both mitosis and meiosis are NUCLEAR divisions that, in animals and many plants and fungi and protists, are accompanied by cytokinesis (replication of the cytoplasmic mitochondria, plastids, etc.) and result in daughter nuclei with cytoplasm enclosed in cell membranes. In all plants, fungi and many protists, mitosis and meiosis are often NOT accompanied by cytokinesis and result in multinucleate cells. This is why the dikaryotic cells in mushrooms (Basidiomycota) are n+n instead of 2n and pollen tubes in plants are n+n+n (tube nucleus and two sperm nuclei).
