what is a chlor - alkali process ? explain with the help of chemical equation​

When electricity is passed through the concentrate solution of NaCl( brine) , it decomposes to form NaOH, Cl2 and Hydrogen. this process is also known as chlor- alkali process due to the products form in this process, chlor for " chlorine " and alkali for NaOH.
