The collection of all the points in a plane which are at a fixed distance (radius) from a fixed point (centre) in the plane is called Circle

 \large \bold{ \underline{Terms \:  related \:  to  \: circle  \:  \: \:  \:  }}

 \to Chord - a line segment joining two points on the circle is called a chord of the circle

 \to Diameter - a chord which passes through the centre of the circle is called a diameter of the circle

 \to Circumference - the length of the complete circle is called its circumference

 \to Arc - a piece of a circle between two points is called an arc

 \to Semicircle - the diameter of a circle divides the circle into two equal parts i.e into two equal arcs . each of these two arcs is called a semicircle

 \to Segment - the region between a chord and either of its arcs is called segment of the circular region

 \to Sector - the region between an arc and the two radii joining the centre to the end point of the arcs is called sector

 \to Semi Circular Region - when two arcs are semi circle , then both segments and both sector becomes same and each is known as semi circular region

A round plane figure whose boundary (the circumference)

consists of points equidistance from a fixed point (centre) is called a circle

CIRCUMFERENCE:

the distance of a circle is called circumference

circumference = 2\pi  r

AREA:

the region enclosed by a circle is called circumference of the circle

area = \pi {r}^{2}

in this both cases 'r' is radius
