Conductors conduct electrical current very easily because of their free electrons. Insulators oppose electrical current and make poor conductors. Some common conductors are copper, aluminum, gold, and silver.

Answer:
A substance which allows heat and electricity to pass through it easily is called a 'conductor'.
Ex. : In general metals are good conductors of heat and electricity, though tungsten and mercury do not conduct electricity as well as other metals. Lead is also a poor conductor. Among non-metals, carbon in the form of graphite is a conductor. So, graphite is an exception as non-metals generally do not conduct electricity. Graphite is the only non-metal which conducts electricity.
