Protoplasm is a translucent living content of a cell enclosed by a plasma membrane. It forms a crystallo-colloid type of solution because the protoplasm forms a mixture which contains a true solution of sugars, salts, acids and bases which forms the crystalloid part and proteins and lipids form the colloidal part.
