Cyclone, any large system of winds that circulates about a centre of low atmospheric pressure in a counterclockwise direction north of the Equator and in a clockwise direction to the south. In simpler terms, Cyclones are low pressure areas and Anti-cyclones are high pressure areas.

Winds flow towards a cyclone whereas winds flow away from an Anti-cyclone.

In Northern hemisphere, Cyclones swirl in counterclockwise direction and anti-cyclone in clockwise direction whereas in Southern hemisphere, cyclones swirl clockwise and anti-cyclones swirl in counter clockwise direction.

Cyclones never cross the equator and in general, polar region has a cyclic low and high pressure areas.

Answer:

hey dear...

In air circulation when high velocity winds takes a cyclic path around to low pressure centre is called as cyclone...

It is different from cyclone because...

when after formation of a high pressure belt covering a wide area,a wind from its centre takes a cyclic path is called as anticyclone

hope it helps uh
