Dams are large constructional structures built on rivers spanning the banks. They are used for water control. While building these, we have to take in mind-
1) Occupation - Some people have their occupation like fishing or water tourism near large rivers. These stop this source of livelihood.
2) Destruction of nearby natural environment. Forests or trees have to be cut, which can lead to mass protests and houses have to be removed too.
3) The government has to ensure proper functioning of the dam at all times which is hard. It can be difficult for all workers as it is a work requiring alot of skill.
