Answer:

Deltas are wetlands that form as rivers empty their water and sediment into another body of water, such as an ocean, lake, or another river. Although very uncommon, deltas can also empty into land. A river moves more slowly as it nears its mouth, or end.

Answer:

What is delta ?

An area of flat land shaped like a triangle where a river divides into smaller rivers as it goes into the sea .

How it is formed ?

Since the river deposits most if its sediments near the mouth , these deposit sediments force the river to split into several distributaries and this region is collectively known as a delta .

Hope this helps you!!!
