Direct Proportion :-

Direct proportion is a mathematical relationship between two variables in which they increase or decrease at the same rate. In other words, when one variable increases, the other variable also increases, and when one variable decreases, the other variable also decreases. This relationship is expressed as y = kx, where y and x are the two variables, and k is a constant of proportionality.

For Example :—

if the cost of buying 3 kg of apples is $6, then the cost of buying 6 kg of apples would be $12, and the cost of buying 9 kg of apples would be $18. Here, the cost and the amount of apples are directly proportional, since the cost increases in direct proportion to the amount of apples being bought. The constant of proportionality is $2, which is the cost per kilogram of apples.
