Distance travelled can be found be the acceleration due to gravity.

If we have to find the distance travelled by a free falling body, we can use the formula,

s = distance = ut + (1/2) a t^2

where,
u is the initial velocity of the body, a is acceleration due to gravity and t is the time taken by the object

Given, t = 3 s

u = 0 m/s

g = a = 9.81 m/s^2

Therefore,

s = 0(t) + (1/2) 9.81 × 3 × 3

Hence the distance travelled by the free falling object in three seconds is 44.415 m.
