A fabric is a flexible planar(having 2 dimensional characteristics) substance constructed from solutions, fibers,yarns or fabrics, in any combination. Fabrics can be classified as woven or knit fabrics.Plain weaves -A) Balanced - number of warps=number of fillings, have a wide range of end uses, they are made in many weights based on their end use. 
Unbalanced- have significant more yarns in one direction 2-3 more times in one direction. 
Basket-Have 2 or more yarns in warp or filling or both. 
Twill weaves-herringbone,hounds-tooth, denim,flannel, gabardine 
Satin weaves- satin,crepe-back satin and sateen.
