Fart is also called flatus or intestinal which are made up of well,gas.

when we eat we don't swallow just our food ,we also swallow air which contains gases like nitrogen and oxygen

It is a gas which is released, when gas creates in our stomach during digestion. Stopping fart can cause casulties and injuries and sometimes death occurs
