-Living organism depend on each other for their food requirements and forms a chain. This is termed as food chain.

-Food chain are of two types:
1) grazing food chain: This chain begins with chlorophyllous producer and extends through herbivores, carnivores and decomposer.

2)Detritus food chain: This chain begins with decomposer which live on dead organic matter and passes through detritus feeding organism in soil to organism feeding on detritus feeders.
