What is a force ? what changes can be produced by a force?

A pull or push on a body is called force. force is needed to lift a book from the table , to kick the football , to throw the ball up , to stop the car by applying brakes. we cannot see the force , but we feel it form it's effect on the objects.

1) Force can change the speed of objects.
2)Force can change the direction of the object
3) Force can control the speed of moving objects.
4) Things do not move from their position due to force (friction).
