What is a fuse? Can we use 5A fuse in 15A wire or vice-versa? Why? Name commonly used materials for making fuse.

The fuse is a safety device which limits the amount of current flowing in the circuit .

No you cannot do that because that would make the current rating invalid and destroy the appliance .


The material of the electric fuse is made up of an alloy of lead and tin .
