Grid is the network of longitudes and latitudes.this helps to locate different countries, places etc...by this we can know the exact location of some places etc... Hope this helps.pls mark as brainliest....

For the purpose of accurately pinpointing a specific location on the surface on the earth, "a grid system" consisting of latitudes and longitudes are used. For uniformity's sake, the northern and southern poles are taken as fixed points.

Longitudes are imaginary lines running between two poles vertically in an east-west location called the “meridians of longitude”. Similarly, latitudes show north-south location whose meridians run from "east to west", parallel to the equator. Thus the intersection of both the meridians of latitude and longitudes forms the grid system.
