The geostationary satellite is an earth orbiting satellite. It is placed at an altitude for approximately 35,800 kilometers directly over the equator which revolves in the same direction that the earth rotates. The term geostationary comes from the fact that the satellite appears stationary in the sky.One orbit takes 24 Hours in this altitude , the same length of time as the earth rotates for one axis.

HI FRIEND

A GEO SATELLITE revolves around the planet at the same speed at which the planet rotates on its axis.

That’s the reason why this kind of satellite appears to be in the same region in the sky when viewed from a particular position on Earth.
