A hazard is any risk to life or property.

They are generay classed by severity and frequency.

The most severe “Acts of God” (actual insurance term) are often uninsurable.

Think asteroids and 500 year floods.

High risk, tornado, tropical cyclone, certain businesses such as Pawn Shops and Strip Clubs.

Some hazards/scenarios covered by insurance to demonstrate the breadth of “hazard”

House fires are severe, but infrequent, so are major aviation mishaps.

Piracy.

Theft

Personal liability (someone trips and falls in your yard).

Professional malpractice (Doctor, Attorney, Private Investigator).

Professional Liability

Automobile.

Personal Property.

Intellectual Property.

The list goes on.

I hope this answers your question
