It is a series of Organic compounds having successive difference of Ch2.

Metane = CH4

Ethane = C2H6

C2H6 - CH4 = CH2

Homologous series is a family of organic compounds having same functional group in which the successive members differ by -CH2 group.

Example :-

CH4, C2H6,C3H8, etc
