Food chain contain producers and consumers. Food chain has four level.

EXPLANATION:

Food chains have 4 steps because there is loss of energy in each step. 10% law is followed. Producers are the plant and consumers cannot prepare their food. They are dependent on the plants for food. This creates balance in ecology and extinction of animals. In more than four steps transformation of energy is very less. So, ideal number of steps in a food chain is four.
