Ionic compounds are those compounds which are formed as a result of complete transfer of electrons from one atom of an element to one atom of other element.

Some ionic compounds are

NaCl = Sodium chloride

MgCl2 = Magnesium chloride

LiF = Lithium Fluoride

LiCl = Lithium Chloride
