Telangana is located in southern India and is bordered by Maharashtra in north & north west, Chhattisgarh in north, Karnataka in west and Andhra Pradesh in east & south. It is found in the Deccan Plateau region. It is located
in the central part in the eastern side of the Indian Peninsula.

It is drained by two major rivers, the Godavari River & the Krishna River. Maximum land is of arid type. The minor rivers are Bhima, Maner, Manjira & Musi. Annual rainfall range is 900mm-1500 mm in northern Telangana and 700mm-900 mm in southern Telangana.
