Construction of magnetic compassAmagnetic compass has a flat circular aluminium box , at the base of which are marked directions like north , south , east and west. A suspendedmagnetic needle is placed in the center which can rotate freely .The magnetic compass is the most familiar compass type
WORKING
The Earth is a magnet that can interactwith other magnets in this way, so the north end of a compass magnet is drawn to align with the Earth'smagnetic field. Because the Earth'smagnetic North Pole attracts the "north" ends of other magnets, it istechnically the "South Pole" of our planet's magnetic field
