What is a main difference between mass and weight ??

The most important difference between mass and weight is that weight changes at different places where as mass remains same at all places whether it's on another planet

There is a basic difference, becausemass is the actual amount of material contained in a body and is measuredin kg, gm, etc. Whereas weight is the force exerted by the gravity on that object mg. Note that mass is independent of everything but weightis different on the earth, moon, etc.
