Answer: A map is a visual representation of an entire area or a part of an area, typically represented on a flat surface. Maps attempt to represent various things, like political boundaries, physical features, roads, topography, population, climates, natural resources and economic activities.

Advantages:

• The whole earth can be studied from a map
• Map show a large number of details.
• Distance cann be measured on a map because it is a flat surface.
• Maps can be easily handled.

Disadvantages:

• It is distort and shape and size of landforms.
• Map doesn't discover things in the same way.
• Maps have some distortion in area, distance, direction and shape.
