1. Metals can lose electrons so they are electropositive in nature.
Non-metals gain electrons so they are electronegative in nature.

2. Metals are good conductors of heat and electricity.
Non-metals are bad conductors of heat and electricity. (Except graphite)

For example -: Sodium

Non metals -:
The elements whose one atom readily gains electron to form a negatively charged ion are known as Non metals.
For example -: Chlorine
