1) Violation of salt laws was followed by violation of many laws across the various parts of the country.
2) Under the leadership of Khan Abdul Ghaffar Khan a society of Khuda-i-khidmatgars was formed.
3) The members of this society were pledged to follow non-violence and participate in freedom struggle.
4) Gaffar Khan was arrested and demonstrations were held in Peshawar protesting against the arrest.
5)The platoon of Gharwal refused to open fire against the demonstrators and hence their commander Chandra Singh Thakur was court martialed and severely punished.
