Metamorphosis is mainly shown in animals such as frog and butterfly where indirect development takes place.A frog performs metamorphosis when it start developing it's small tail.For example when frogs are in the stage of developing small tail and have gills after some time they develop the lungs and come out of water for breathing and thier tail shortens.
